project: Full Bellies; Full Hearts Part 2!
Franklin Elementary School is in a neighborhood where over 90 percent of the children are poverty or low income. Drugs, alcoholism, and homelessness are the major issues these kids are faced with. It is a very transitional school where kids come and go due to the parents moving them in and out.
Some of their greatest needs are providing a healthy snack to the Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms (about 50 kids). They try and feed the kids a snack before they go home as many have very limited food at home. This project will provide a daily healthy snack to include fresh fruits.
